Quality Improvement, Accreditation and Designations

We do our best to provide you with quality programs and services. Some of the ways we are accountable for ensuring quality is a focus in everything we do are described below.

Quality Improvement Plan

Health Quality Ontario uses a pre-determined set of indicators to measure health quality in Ontario. Quality Improvement Plans are a public commitment to meet quality improvement goals set out by Health Quality Ontario. Canadian Centre for Accreditation

Langs was awarded a four-year accreditation by the Canadian Association for Accreditation (CCA) in recognition of achieving 51 mandatory standards and 28 leading practice CCA standards for quality in:

  • Organizational foundations
  • Board governance
  • Quality, Risk Management and Performance
  • Knowledge and learning
  • Program and service approach
  • Relationships with community
  • Stewardship and financial management
  • Human resources, volunteers and students
  • Information management
  • Community-based approach for primary care
  • Delivery of quality programs and services in primary care
  • Service Safety   

Langs is proud to be accredited by CCA which offers a third-party review process that is tailored to community-based organizations.  CCA accreditation is based on widely-accepted best practice standards that promote ongoing quality improvement and responsive, effective community services and community-based primary care. 

Langs’ accreditation term is January 6, 2023 to January 5, 2027.

Good Food Organization

Good Food Organizations are a national network of food security non-profits who share a commitment to creating a healthy and fair food system. A project of Community Food Centres Canada, the Good Food Organizations (GFO) program aims to increase the capacity of community food security organizations.

As a Good Food Organization since 2019, Langs is committed to the Good Food Principles. These principles include:

  1. Taking action from the individual to the systemic level
  2. Believing and investing in the power of good food
  3. Creating an environment of respect and community leadership
  4. Meeting people where they’re at
  5. Aiming high for our organizations and our communities

HIGH FIVE® Accreditation

Langs is proudly a HIGH FIVE® accredited organization. As a member, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of programming, focusing on healthy child development, quality, and safety.

HIGH FIVE® is Canada's quality standard for recreation and leisure programs. It was founded in 2001 by Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO) as a national standard for children’s recreation programs.

Dementia Friendly

Langs is a ‘Dementia Friendly Community’ as a result of customized training with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario to ensure we are a place where people living with dementia are understood, respected and supported.  To learn more about ‘Dementia Friendly Communities’, please click here.
