Quality Improvement, Accreditation and Designations

We do our best to provide you with quality programs and services. Some of the ways we are accountable for ensuring quality is a focus in everything we do are described below.

Quality Improvement Plan

Health Quality Ontario uses a pre-determined set of indicators to measure health quality in Ontario. Quality Improvement Plans are a public commitment to meet quality improvement goals set out by Health Quality Ontario. Canadian Centre for Accreditation

Langs is an accredited organization with the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA).  The accreditation process occurs every 4 years and as of summer 2018, Langs has been successfully accredited on 4 separate occasions.  

The CCA accreditation process assesses: 

  • how we engage our communities served 
  • inclusion and equity in the programs and services we provide 
  • risk management and safety of our participants and staff 
  • governance and stewardship policies and procedures related to all aspects of the organization

High Five Accreditation

Langs is proud to be a HIGH FIVE® Accredited Organization. High Five is Canada’s quality standard for children’s programs. Langs has committed to training staff in the Principles of Healthy Child Development and regularly evaluate our youth programs using a very specific, detailed tool. Langs has demonstrated that our programs are of the highest quality and our policies and procedures ensure that safety is the priority for participants.

Dementia Friendly

Langs is a ‘Dementia Friendly Community’ as a result of customized training with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario to ensure we are a place where people living with dementia are understood, respected and supported.  To learn more about ‘Dementia Friendly Communities’, please click here.

Good Food Organization

Langs is proud to be joining the 175 Good Food Organizations across the country working in alliance with Community Food Centres Canada to build a country where everyone has the means, knowledge and voice necessary to access good food with dignity. @aplaceforfood
