Why Volunteer

Volunteering at Langs provides opportunities for community members to give back to their community while developing leadership skills and gaining hands-on work experience. Meet new people, develop new skills and have fun! Various volunteer opportunities are available to meet a variety of needs and interests. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old and student placements are always welcome.

How to Volunteer

  • Call the Volunteer Co-ordinator to make an appointment or click here to fill in the online volunteer application
  • Schedule an interview with the volunteer coordinator to tell us about your interests and availability
  • You may visit some programs and services to determine your interests
  • A police check is required for volunteers 14 and over (Langs will pay for it)
  • Attend training and orientation sessions as required

Volunteer Positions

There are many volunteer opportunities at Langs such as:

  • Member of the Board of Directors or other committees
  • Resource Centre Receptionist
  • Early Years Program volunteers for child care
  • Youth and Teen Centre volunteer for breakfast club, drop in and after school programs
  • Adult program volunteers for cooking and seniors programs
  • Clinical volunteer for administrative support
  • Bus driver for our programs (F class license required)
  • Quarterly newsletter distributor
