About the Adults and Seniors Program at Langs

Langs offers a number of programs for adults and seniors. We encourage participant leadership and skills development in a fun environment. Programs incorporate a variety of activities such as exercise, cooking, crafts, games, and educational workshops on relevant issues and organizations. Childcare is available during many of our programs

Core Programs

  • Take a Break
    • A women’s only program that runs throughout the year, for women of all ages. The purpose of Take a Break is to provide respite for parents/caregivers, as well as opportunities for social networking. Common topics focus on cooking, health promotion, self-care, and crafts. Childcare available.
  • Yoga
    • This program teaches the basics of yoga to community members. All skill levels welcome.
  • Retired and Ready 50+
    • A recreational program for older adults 50+ years. This program runs once a month and often consists of a Brunch and Learn, cooking days, and often outings to local attractions.
  • Cooking Healthy Together
    • This program is based on Canada’s Food Guide and teaches healthy eating. Participants work together to create delicious meals that are cost effective. Childcare available.

 

Additional Programs

In addition to our core programs, Langs also offers scheduled outings, seasonal trips and first aid courses throughout the year.
