Playground Worker

Position Requirements:
- Be at least 16 years of age and returning to school in the fall (including college or university)
- Have experience and enjoy working with groups of children in a recreational program
- Enthusiastic, creative and caring
- Previous leadership training
- First aid training and the High Five Principles of Healthy Development training is an asset
- Previous playground or camp experience and knowledge of the North Dumfries area are an asset.
Position Information:
- Contract begins June 30, 2008 for 7 weeks- you must be available for duration of seven week contract
- 35 hours per week
- Gain practical experience ‘hands-on’ experience working with youth aged 5-14 years
- Work with neighbourhood residents and volunteers
- Develop valuable leadership skills
- This position will be located in the Ayr community

NURSE PRACTITIONER (RN) EC
Working with our existing multi-disciplinary team the Nurse Practitioner will provide:
- primary health care
- outreach activities
- health promotion/health education services
Requirements include:
- Baccalaureate in Nursing and Post Graduate Nurse Practitioner Education
- current College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Competence
- Extended Class Certification
- 2 – 5 years experience in community/primary health care setting
- interest and experience in working in a range of community based settings with a variety of populations including the rural community, individuals with mental health challenges, seniors, women and children
- skills/experience to fulfil major functions of role: wellness care; assessment, diagnosis and management of episodic illness; monitoring chronic disease; and group work
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings
In addition to the above clinical skills, candidates for this position will have: excellent communication and problem solving skills; excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills; proficiency in the use of computers and software applications. Evening work is required for this position.
New graduates of the PHCNP course will be considered after successful completion of their licensing exam. Start dates are negotiable.
